James Choi
James Choi was born in South Korea and moved to the U.S at age 7. He’s lived in Florida, Oregon, and New Jersey, but grew up mostly in Coppell, TX, in a pastor’s home. At age 21, he was saved through the prayerful parenting of his aunt and uncle and his college ministry in Gainesville, FL.
James moved to Maryland, after graduating from University of Florida and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, to serve at a Korean-American church as an associate pastor in 2008. In 2015, James participated in the pastoral internship and eventually transitioned to CHBC for further pastoral training. James testifies that every stage of his life is an evidence of God’s immeasurable grace! Currently, he teaches regularly through a Christian foundation, oversees Hope Christian Fellowship at George Washington University, and is finishing his Doctor of Ministry at Southern Seminary. James resides in Hyattsville, MD, with his wife Jeri, daughter Caidy, and son Micaiah. He desires to plant or revitalize a church in the greater DC area.
